who we are
founding hyperspace
hyperspace was founded in 2020 in Berkhamsted with a simple ambition: to create forward-thinking architecture that lifts everyday life.
We design everything from innovative extensions and transformative renovations to one-off homes, interiors and cabins —and we’re always ready to take on new challenges across different sectors. We design spaces that feel alive, purposeful and quietly transformative.
As an award-winning young studio, we’re drawn to collaborators who share our appetite for invention. We belong to a new wave of architects determined to reshape the future of the built environment—one thoughtful, future-facing project at a time.
Sustainability is the thread that runs through everything we create —it’s the foundation of our studio. We believe architecture must confront today’s pressures head-on, from climate responsibility to urban biodiversity. Our circular design process begins by studying what already exists, revealing opportunities to reimagine, reinvigorate, reuse and recycle. This reduces waste, minimises carbon and preserves embodied energy. But we go further: we strive to create biodiversity-boosting buildings—structures that invite nature back in, offering places for plants to climb, insects to shelter and ecosystems to begin again. Weaving nature back into the places people live.
We pursue an architecture that is both joyous and grounded: bold in expression, gentle in impact. At Hyperspace, imagination and responsibility are not opposites—they are partners. We craft spaces that enrich people’s lives while contributing positively to the world around them.
Olli Andrew is an award-winning architect with over a decade of experience working for some of the world’s leading architecture practices across the UK and USA. In 2020, he founded hyperspace to explore a more thoughtful, future-facing approach to architecture—one that places sustainability, biodiversity and material reuse at its core, while remaining rooted in craft, innovation and human experience.
Originally trained as an artist, Olli’s early fascination with sculpture and form continues to shape his architectural work today. He went on to complete his Bachelor of Architecture at London South Bank University and his Master of Architecture at the University of Westminster, where he was awarded Detail magazine’s Best Student Prize. He qualified as an architect in 2016 with an Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
Innovation has always been central to Olli’s work. From conceptual floating transit hubs on the River Thames to a pollution-capturing bus shelter that earned nomination as the Mayor of London’s Low Carbon Entrepreneur, his projects consistently explore how architecture can respond creatively to social and environmental challenges. Named One to Watch by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Olli believes deeply in architecture that benefits both people and planet.
His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Los Angeles Art and Design Museum and the Denver Art Museum, and published widely in titles such as Dezeen, Dwell, FRAME, ArchDaily, Architects’ Journal and the Evening Standard. Hyperspace has also been recognised by the New Gens European Architecture Platform as one of the UK’s most exciting emerging studios.
